Action & Cognition (Motor System)
Prof. Dr. med. Peter König
Veranstaltungstyp: Seminar
TeilnehmerInnen: This course builds on the series of lectures: Action & Cognition Visual System, Motor System, Higher Cognitive Functions. It is highly recommended to attend at least one of these lectures before taking the seminar. In the seminar, we will cover more recent developments in (cognitive) visual neuroscience. However, a big part of the seminar focuses on active participation in the discussion, learning how to give good talks, and learning how to read and understand papers. I view participating in the seminar as the logical next step after the lecture.
Beschreibung:
IKnowledge of Action & Cognition Visual System is helpful.
In this lecture, we discuss the physiological substrate of cognitive processes with an emphasis on their relation to behavior. That is, we will cover extensive parts of the brain that are usually considered the motor system, i.e. executing a somewhat dumb form what other parts of the brain decided upon. We will further critically analyze this view.
