Citation conventions vary from subject to subject, and there may also be differences within a subject, for example between different types of academic text. Clear formal guidelines are helpful, but even when they exist, they are not always universally applicable. In this workshop, you will learn how to work out the citation rules of your discipline yourself when such guidelines are lacking or insufficient. We will also reflect on the meaning and purpose of citations in academic texts, and you will have the opportunity to clarify basic questions on this topic.
Please bring along a (short) text sample from your discipline (for example, a journal article or a sample term paper).
