Study Project: LLMs for Science (Part I)

Sebastian Musslick

Veranstaltungstyp: Studienprojekt
TeilnehmerInnen:

Beschreibung:
In study project, students will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and scientific research by designing an advanced system that integrates Large Language Models (LLMs) with federated data sources. Through hands-on collaboration, students will build and deploy AI models capable of analyzing scientific data across various local datasets without violating data protection ethics and regulations.
Students will focus on two key areas: (1) evaluating the ethical considerations surrounding the use of LLMs in federated environments, such as data privacy and fairness, and (2) applying state-of-the-art AI techniques to develop models that can autonomously assess how new research fits into existing scientific literature. This includes the ability to interpret plots, tables, and text, and generate summaries or opinions on their significance in the broader scientific context.
By the end of the course, we aim to develop an AI system that not only simplifies the process of scientific analysis but also upholds ethical standards in its operation.
